He married Anna Dandolo, daughter of Raniero Dandalo, Doge of Venice, between 1216 and 1217. Stephen I Techomil, King of Serbia and Maria Komnene were engaged before 1217; Engagement broken off when it was discovered that they were related in the 5th degree.3 Stephen I Techomil, King of Serbia died on 24 September 1227; Died a monk.2
