SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ESTHER COLE
A brief prayer service was held at Campbell's Funeral Home on Monday for Mrs. Esther Cole Moffett,84, who died at her home in Concordia, Kansas last Friday.

Rev. Llyod Dutro was in charge of Committal services at the Olin Cemetery.

Mrs. Moffett; a sister of the late A. A. Cole will be remembered by many Olin residents.

Her husband Rev. R. A. Moffett preceded her in death in 1913. Two sons, Paul and Mark of Concordia,one grandson, Loren, all of Concordia survive. Another grandson, Robert Moffett was killed in the European war theater in April 1945. A sister, Mrs. Mary Serwen of Wellington, Kansas and a brother, John Cole, of Greeley, Colo, also survive.

Funeral services were held at Concordia from the Ev. U. B. Church on Sunday. The remains were brought to Olin by the son, Mark. after 18 June 1948 at OBIT.1

Simeon served as enlisted in Comp G, 31st Regiment of Iowa Infantry as a private - Aug 9, 1862
and was discharged as Sergeant in the war of the rebellion and served at least ninety days and was honorably discharged at Louisville, KY on the 27th day of June 1865.
On the 9th day of August, 1862 he with one hundred other valiant young men whom he drilled for service,he enlisted as a member of Company G, 31st Iowa Volunteers. During his long service he participated in twenty-four active engagements, and went with Sherman to the sea. And when the struggle had ended, and victory won, eighty-seven of the original one hundred had made the supreme sacrifice, and as one of the thirteen survivors he was mustered out on July 2, 1865
October, 1865, he married Miss Rebecca Jane Garrison. The young people commenced keeping house on the old farm at Pleasant Hill, where they resided until they retired in 1900, and moved to Olin.

Their union was blest with four children - Clara Bell Freeman, deceased; Nettie, now Mrs. Don L Glick; Oren, who died at the age of two years and Herbert G. Besides the daughter and son left surviving, there are seven grandchildren, and one aged brother. Fred Cole of Gardena, California, besides a host of relatives and friends who unite in sharing the sorrows occasioned by the passing of this good man.

OLIN - Mrs Nettie Glick. 85. died Sunday morning at the Stoecker Nursing home in Anamosa. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the E.U.B. church in Olin, with Rev Lloyd Dutro officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.
Life Outlined
Sarah Lunettie Cole, the daughter of Simeon and Rebecca Jane Garrison Cole, was born in the Pleasant Hill community of Hale township, Jones county, on Sept 21, 1871. She grew to womanhood on the farm where she was born, attending the rural school in the community. She also attended Olin high school She was the last of her family, having been preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and one sister.
Marriage Told
On Feb 15, 1893, she was united in marriage to Don L. Glick at the home of her parents. They farmed in Hale township until about 1921, when they moved into Olin Mrs Glick cared for her aged father and they maintained their home in Olin since that time until about a year and a half ago. One son Cecil, was born to this union. He died in 1933. Her husband, Don, also passed away in March, 1955, after more than 62
years of life together. Mrs. Glick united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist church while still a young girl and had kept her affiliation with that church throughout her life. Although not officially a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church in Olin, she attended the services and activities of this church with regularity as long as health permitted. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society and a former member of the Missionary society of this church. She and Mr. Glick served as custodians of the church for several years. She always had an interest for the young people and for many years gave of her time to play the piano for their meeting, until some of the young people became able to take care of that responsibility. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, serving for many years as recorder for the Olin camp. Although Mrs. Glick had been in failing health for several years, her condition did not become critical until a couple of weeks ago. She is survived by a grandson, Bruce W Glick, Modesto, Calif; a granddaughter, Mrs. Judith Diers, Walnut Creek. Calif., a daughter-in-law. Mrs. Nellie May Glick, Olin, a number of nieces and nephews.
Services Held
Prayer service was held at the home of her daughter-in-law at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, followed by services at the Olin Evangelical United Brethren church at 2 p.m. Rev Lloyd Dutro, pastor, was in charge. Larry Robertson sang, "Shall We Gather At The River," and "Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere," accompanied by Nellie Stivers at the organ. Casket bearers were Edmund Sealls, Michael Swenson, Sam Alexander, Oscar Kinler, Bliss Switzer. and Richard Eyestone. after 20 January 1957 at OBIT.1
