     Charles S. Hoover was born on 19 September 1874 at Woodland, Barry, MI.² He married Alice A. Heslop, daughter of John Heslop and Emma Burdick, on 6 April 1904 at Summit, OH.² Charles S. Hoover died in 1954 at Muskingum, OH.²

     Catharine Clapper was born on 27 June 1799. She married Christian Hoover, Jr., son of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, in 1827 at Huntingdon Co., PA. Catharine Clapper married Elder Daniel Brumbaugh Ulrich, Sr., son of John Ulrich, Sr. and Christiana Brumbaugh, circa 1830; They had 3 sons (David Clapper; Martin S; & David D.) & 3 daughters (Elizabeth; Anna C; & Rosina C.)¹ Catharine Clapper died on 10 June 1860 at age 60.

     Sarah Shultz was born in 1791. She married Jacob Hoover, son of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, in 1817 at Huntingdon, PA. Sarah Shultz died in 1830.

     Abraham Houser was born in 1824 at PA.

     John Houser was born circa 1790 at PA. He married Barbara Hoover, daughter of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, in 1813 at Huntingdon, PA. John Houser died on 6 February 1830.

     Jacob Summers Rarick was born on 27 November 1778 at Bedford, PA.¹ He married Elizabeth Hoover, daughter of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, in 1799 at Huntingdon, PA; They had 4 sons (David; Christian; Jacob; & John H.) & 5 daughters (Susannah; Barbara; Mary; Elizabeth; & Lydia).¹ Jacob Summers Rarick died on 30 August 1820 at Newberry, Miami, OH, at age 41.¹

     Jacob Wise was born on 12 March 1779 at Huntingdon, PA. He married Elizabeth Hoover, daughter of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, on 16 March 1823 at Miami Co., OH. Jacob Wise died on 31 October 1845 at OH at age 66.

     Jacob Yerty married Susannah Hoover, daughter of Christian Hoover and Anna Catharina Houser, at Huntingdon, PA. Jacob Yerty was born in 1789. He married Esther Wise, daughter of Jacob Wise, after 1831. Jacob Yerty died in 1855.

     Johann Nickel Muller married Elisabeth Dorsam, daughter of Johannes Dörsam and Anna Catharina, on 18 January 1701.

     Anna Catharina Grimm married Peter Dorsam, son of Johannes Dörsam and Anna Catharina, on 17 June 1704.

     Frank Harry Williams was born on 12 January 1889 at Smith Center, Smith, KS.¹ He married Edna Cecilia Hammond, daughter of Edwin Charlwood Hammond and Elisabeth Hoffmann, on 3 June 1917 at Courtland, Republic, KS.¹ Frank Harry Williams died on 28 July 1949 at Grand Island, Hall, NE, at age 60; Buried at Grand Island Cemetery, Section A, Lot 152.

     Herkle Lester Wampler was born on 16 November 1902 at Girard, Crawford, KS.^1,2 He married Rose Ella Hammond, daughter of Edwin Charlwood Hammond and Elisabeth Hoffmann, on 22 December 1928. Herkle Lester Wampler died on 28 June 1996 at Grand Island, Hall, NE, at age 93.¹

     Rev. Sidney L. McCaig was born on 27 December 1905 at Brady, Lincoln, NE.² He married Christina Elizabeth Hammond, daughter of Edwin Charlwood Hammond and Elisabeth Hoffmann, on 20 June 1934 at Boston, Suffolk, MA; They had 2 daughters (Sandra Kay md. Jack Clifford Davis; & Patricia Ann md. Johannes J. Raaff).² Rev. Sidney L. McCaig died on 27 April 1988 at Honolulu, Honolulu, HI, at age 82.

     Lydia Fitch Munger was born on 26 April 1858 at Mina, Chautauqua, NY.¹ She appeared on the census of 9 June 1880 at Redland, Webster, NE; She was 22 and a school teacher. It says that her father was born in NY, her mother in PA. I think that's her step-mother's birth place.² She married Alfred Luke Hammond, son of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, on 19 October 1885 at Smith, KS. Lydia Fitch Munger and Alfred Luke Hammond appeared on the census of 16 January 1920 at Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA; Supervisor's District 3, Enumeration District 607, Precinct 23, Sheet 10A. They were age 62 and 61, respectively. He worked in a brick yard as a laborer. She had no occupation. She says she was born in PA, her father was born in NY and her mother was born in PA. Her birthplace and that of her mother are wrong. He was born in Illinois and his parents were born in England. All correct.³ Lydia Fitch Munger died on 9 September 1933 at Inglewood, Los Angeles, CA, at age 75; She had married (2) on 3 November 1925 to William H. Busz in California, probably Los Angeles County. He died in December of 1932 and was buried in Angelus Rosedale Cemetery, NOT beside Lydia.⁴ She was buried on 12 September 1933 at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Los Angeles, CA.⁴

     Alonzo Fish Dunton was born on 5 November 1860 at Portland, Cumberland, ME. He married Anna Harriett Hammond, daughter of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, on 15 April 1885.¹ Alonzo Fish Dunton appeared on the census of 28 June 1900 at Cora Township, Smith, KS; He had been married 15 years. They had 7 children, 6 of whom are living. His birth month is shown as November 1860 in Maine. He is a farmer owns the farm he lives on.² He appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 at Cora Township, Smith, KS; Owned his farm. He had been married 25 years. They had 9 children, 8 of whom were still living.³ He appeared on the census of 2 January 1920 at Cora Township, Smith, KS.⁴ He appeared on the census of 1925 at Goodland, Sherman, KS; His occupation is farmer, but he is retired.⁵ He appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 at Lebanon, Smith, KS; Married at age 24, his wife was 23 then. He, his wife and daughter Lida had no occupations.⁶ He Living in Lebanon, Smith, KS. Age 79. on 1 April 1940. He died on 3 April 1955 at Manhattan, Riley, KS, at age 94.

     Eber William Dunham was born on 12 July 1862 at Fairfield, Grundy, IA. He appeared on the census of 1 March 1875 at Houston, Smith, KS; He is shown as age 12 and born in Iowa.³ He appeared on the census of 24 June 1880 at Houston, Smith, KS; He is shown as son of Adelia C Dunham. His is age 17, farm worker. He was born in Iowa.⁴ He married Maria Janette Hammond, daughter of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, circa 1888.¹ Eber William Dunham appeared on the census of 15 June 1900 at Precinct 2, Otero, CO; Born July 1862 in Iowa. He has been married 9 years. They have 2 children, both living. He was a day laborer, owned his mortgaged home.⁵ He appeared on the census of 25 April 1910 at Houston, Smith, KS; Age 47, born in Iowa. It shows M2 for marriage, not M1 like all the other marriages on the page. They had been married 19 years. They had two children, still living and listed as Dealia and Lona C., age 19 and 16, respectively. He is a teamster and his wife is a seamstress. Dealia is a Music Teacher, and Lona C. is a Cartoonist.⁶ He appeared on the census of 1915 at Gaylord, Smith, KS; Born in 1863 in Iowa.⁷ He appeared on the census of 7 January 1920 at Gaylord, Smith, KS; He is age 57, born in Iowa, parents born in Vermont and New York, respectively. He's a farmer. Wife is Marie J., age 55, born in Illinois, parents born in England, both speak English. Her occupation is (?) maker which she does in the home. Lona C. daughter, age 26, born in Kansas, parents in Iowa and Illinois. Her occupation is unreadable.⁸ He appeared on the census of 1925 at Gaylord, Smith, KS.⁹ He died on 4 January 1947 at Smith, KS, at age 84; Family says he was the "hardest snorer", worse than Edwin Charlwood Hammond.¹⁰

     Austin Gould Jacobs was born on 11 October 1834 at Pierpont Township, Jefferson, Ashtabula, OH; His uncle Moses Jacobs had a son Austin who was 2 years older than this Austin.^5,3 He appeared on the census of 24 September 1850 at Pierpont Township, Jefferson, Ashtabula, OH; Age 16. Farmer. Also listed: Aaron, age 54 (can't decipher where born), Minister in Church of the Brethren; Lucy, age 49, born in Mass; Lysander, age 19, Farmer, born in Ohio; Henry, age 17 farmer, born in Ohio; Vesta B., age 7, born in Ohio, Salathiel V., age 25, born in Ohio, lumberman.² He married Frances Miriam Chapman, daughter of Chauncey Chapman and Martha Maynard, on 30 December 1855 at Ashtabula, Ashtabula, OH; They had 2 sons (Charles Henry; & Nelson Eugene) & 3 daughter (Ida Ella; Lula Alberta; & Lillie).^3,4 Austin Gould Jacobs appeared on the census of 28 June 1870 at Pierpont Township, Jefferson, Ashtabula, OH.⁶ He appeared on the census of 1 March 1905 at Horton, Brown, KS; He is listed next to Francis Jacobs, age 73. They owned their home. Francis was born in New York. Both came from Nebraska. He is shown as retired.⁷ He appeared on the census of 1915 at Grasshopper, Atchison, KS.⁸ He and Marietta Hammond obtained a marriage license on 23 November 1915 at Smith Center, Smith, KS.^1,9 Austin Gould Jacobs married Marietta Hammond, daughter of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, on 24 November 1915 at Smith Center, Smith, KS; By 1920, they were living separately, she with her father, he with one of his children. The family legend is that his children thought Marietta was a gold-digger and they forced him to leave her. They wanted his fortune for themselves.^5,10 Austin Gould Jacobs died on 9 September 1922 at Horton, Brown, KS., at age 87; Buried in Horton Cemetery.³

     Charlotte Sarah Holcombe was born on 4 January 1880 at MS; She is shown as 28 years old in 1910 in Manzanola, Otero, CO. Kelly Jean Johnston says that she was Charlotte Sarah Alexander, but I find no such person. She married Horace Richard Hammond, son of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, on 10 May 1902 at La Junta, Otero, CO.¹ Charlotte Sarah Holcombe appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 at Manzanola, Otero, CO; She is shown as age 28, married 7 years with 3 children (all living). She was born in Mississippi and her parents were born in Georgia and Alabama, respectively.² She appeared on the census of 16 January 1920 at Smith Center City, Smith, KS; Supervisor District 6, Enumeration District 212, Sheet 6A, Lines 34-41. She is shown as Sarah, Age 38. Born in Mississippi, father born in Georgia, mother born in England.³ She died in August 1970 at Kansas City, Jackson, MO, at age 90; She had a daughter born to her after Horace died. Her name was Mabel Ruth Hammond, b. 10 February 1920 at Smith Center, Smith, KS. She died 13 March 1968 at San Francisco.⁴

     Herman Gana was born on 22 June 1878 at Firth, Lancaster, NE; He may have been born in Thayer, York Co., NE, but I don't think that's correct.¹ He married Cecilia Hammond, daughter of Luke Hammond and Harriet Maides, on 22 June 1909 at Lincoln, Lancaster, NE; Besides the son (Virgil Peter), they had twin daughters who were stillborn. They were buried at the Union Valley Cemetery in Scandia.The Belleville Telescope of 13 August 1909 stated on page 1 that "Married June 22, by Judge Crosley at his office at Lincoln, Nebraska, Miss Cecilia Hammond and Mr. Herman Gana. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Hammond of Scandia and is well and popularly known. The groom is a prosperous young farmer of Perth, Nebraska, where they will make their home."^2,1 Herman Gana died on 18 December 1953 at Lincoln, Lancaster, NE, at age 75; Buried at Holland Cemetery, Hickman, Lancaster, NE. He married (2) Stella Gertrude Stack on 25 May 1920 at Lincoln. They had 1 daughter (Nellie Mae, b. 14 February 1922, d. 21 March 1992, married Lonnie Lee Warren on 31 December 1944 in Waco, TX).¹ He was buried on 21 December 1953 at Holland Cemetery, Hickman Township, Lancaster, NE.¹
