PHYSICIAN'S AFFIDAVIT

May 23, 1911
I waited on the soldier, Daniel G. Matheson during his last sickness as his family physician and that he died on the 29th day of October, 1910.
[Daniel G. Matheson received his pension of $12.00 per month and just before his death the pension was increased to $17.00. He never lived to know of the increase.]
Commencing on November 28, 1910 Daniel G. Matheson's widow Emily Matheson began receiving a WIdow's Pension of $12.00 per month. She also filed for Accrued pension, Act of March 2, 1895, for her first husband William A. Dugger, on June 28, 1911. After a long journey into paperwork on top of paperwork she must have received it also as she was drawing $90.00 per month when she died October 30, 1920, just 10 years and one day after her husband Daniel's death. She was, in 1920, drawing #30.00 a month for Widow's pension on Daniel's name, so remaining $60.00 a month must have been accrued pension from her first husband. [Ref. Pension and Widow Pension REcords] Her daughter, Ada M. Matheson cared for her during her illness and after her death, settled her estate. Ada M. Matheson, a single lady, then removed from Rasor, Tennessee to Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Address, Rt.1 Box 63 [as of 12 May 1922] Daniel and Emily Matheson are buried in the Happy Valley, Blount County, Tennessee, Church Cemetery on 17 February 1890 at Maryville, Blount, TN.7 He died on 29 October 1910 at Maryville, Blount, TN, at age 67.3 He was buried on 1 November 1910 at Boone Cemetery, Happy Valley, Blount, TN.7

PHYSICIAN'S AFFIDAVIT
State of Tennessee, County of Blount
Dr. G. F. Hannah, Marysville, Tenn. RFD #7
